RD Legal Funding Provides Post-Settlement Advances to NFL Plaintiffs and Their Attorneys

United States District Judge Anita Brody has given final approval of the $765 million settlement reached by retired NFL players over concussion issues. The settlement was granted preliminary approval in 2013 and was pending final approval because Judge Brody was not satisfied with the deal, pushing for greater compensation on behalf of the players.

As a result of final approval, RD Legal Funding, LLC (“RD Legal”) is offering post-settlement advances to retired NFL players who have awards based on the NFL concussion litigation. RD Legal can also advance funds to attorneys who are due fees associated with this settlement.

Many sports observers and commentators agree that retired players benefit more from the current settlement compared to the 2013 version. A majority of the $765 million will compensate players and their families. The remainder will pay for medical exams, medical research on concussions, and legal fees.

According to Joseph Genovesi, President of RD Legal, “we are aware of the issues regarding NFL concussion claims. Because of the delay in payout of awards and legal fees, RD Legal is positioned to provide settlement advances to both the players and their attorneys to accelerate receipt of funds.”

If you are a retired player with an award from the NFL concussion settlement or a plaintiff’s attorney with fees linked to this litigation, contact RD Legal about Fee Acceleration and how it can help you claim a portion of your delayed payment.

Since 1998, RD Legal has provided financing to plaintiff’s attorneys based on their settled case fees, allowing them to bypass delays in payment.
